Baby Kangaroo Portugal wasn't born from a business plan, but from the beating of a heart.
In 2023, when I became pregnant with my daughter Inês, my world turned upside down. I plunged headlong into books, studies and articles on parenting and child development. I wanted to be prepared, I wanted to give her the best. And before I knew it, I fell in love.
I fell in love with a calmer, more conscious and more present way of looking at childhood.
Since Inês was born, this project has become my mirror. Watching her grow, change, learn and, above all, play, ignites in me an almost stubborn desire: that she be a child for as long as possible. That the world doesn't rush her. May she have time.
This is where our philosophy comes from: Slow Growing.
Every product you find on our shelves has been handpicked by me. Not to fill space, but to inspire and to last. We work exclusively with European brands that share our values, comply with the strictest safety standards and believe, as we do, that a toy should not be a mere pastime, but a tool for growth.
We want every object that comes into your home to have a purpose. That it is an invitation to play, share and create memories. That it tells a story.

It's our way of saying “calm down”.
It's an invitation to slow down and respect each child's unique rhythm. In a society that pushes us forward, that measures success in developmental milestones and that fills the agendas of the little ones, we believe in the power of time, boredom and free discovery.
A child's brain is being built - it's the most extraordinary thing in the universe. In the early years, it develops at breakneck speed. And what feeds it is not lights, sounds or screens. What feeds it is exploration, touch, challenge and human connection.
That's why you won't find any electronic toys here.
It's not because we're against technology.
It's because we're in favor of children.
A screen offers an easy and immediate reward, a dopamine rush that the baby's brain is not ready to process. Real play, on the other hand, teaches resilience. It teaches children to deal with the frustration of a falling tower, to find the joy in rebuilding it, to discover the world with their own hands.
It's in boredom that creativity is born.
